The Investments and Participations in Infrastructure Group S/A (Invepar) was the winner of the BR-040 auction for the sections in the Federal District, Goiás and Minas Gerais, held today (27) at BM&FBovespa, in the capital of São Paulo. Eight groups participated in the auction.

The group won with a toll offer of R$ 3,22 per 100 kilometers (km) traveled, representing a discount of 61,13%. The maximum toll rate stipulated by the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) for the BR-040 auction was R$ 9,54 per 100 km.

The highway is expected to be granted under the federal government's Logistics Investment Program (PIL), which has already tendered, among other sections, the BR-050 highway between Goiás and Minas Gerais, and the BR-163 highway in Mato Grosso.

According to ANTT, the concession contract will be signed on March 6, 2014. The segment runs from Brasília, at the junction with BR-251, to Juiz de Fora, in Minas Gerais. It is projected that there will be 11 toll plazas along the stretch.
