The 24th Brazilian Tourism Mart (BNTM), which will be held at the Ceará Events Center (CEC), has already reached its target for buyer (investor) participation. With one month to go before the event, which will take place from May 27th to 30th, the business exchange has already confirmed the participation of 300 buyers from countries such as Argentina, Italy, England, Portugal, and the United States.

Of the confirmed buyers, 90% who have shown interest in Northeast Brazil are foreigners. "The great interest is due to the high dollar exchange rate, which makes the Northeast a cheaper destination, in addition to the positive feedback from the last edition and also the particular attraction of this year, which is the holding of the fair in the state of Ceará," highlights Arialdo Pinho, Secretary of Tourism of Ceará.

The fair is expected to attract 1.300 visitors, including tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers, journalists, and representatives from the national and international tourism industry. The expectation is to generate approximately R$ 200 million in business. This year, the event will feature new attractions such as the Cultural Arena, a 200 m² space dedicated to showcasing the culture and gastronomy of Northeast Brazil, with folkloric performances and tastings of regional cuisine.

In addition to the new event plaza, BNTM will continue to have three other spaces: Governmental, with the presence of the nine northeastern states; Institutional, with stands from operators, agencies, and interested companies; and Commercial, where business rounds will be held. This year, all stands will be built with ecological wood.

BNTM has been held annually since 1992, always in one of the capitals of the Northeast region of Brazil. For the 2015 edition, in addition to thematic meetings, the fair will also continue to host business roundtables. Last year, approximately 3.300 business meetings and encounters were scheduled at the event held at Arena Pernambuco.
