Ceará247 - The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) has approved financing of R$ 353,5 million for the construction of four wind farms and their respective transmission systems in the municipality of Trairi (CE), on the west coast of the state.

The investments include the acquisition of 36 wind turbines, as well as domestically produced machinery and equipment, also intended for the four transmission lines.

The Cacimbas, Estrela, Santa Mônica, and Ouro Verde wind farms were winners of the 22nd Auction for Energy from New Generation Projects, held in August 2015. According to the bank, they will have a total capacity of 97,2 MW and will be part of the Santa Mônica Wind Complex. The forecast is that the four wind farms will begin operating in the second half of 2016.
