Protected, Alckmin says Azeredo's conviction shows that the law applies to everyone.

"This shows that the institutions work. Justice is neither red, nor blue, nor yellow, nor green," declared the former governor of São Paulo, whose own case was freed from Lava Jato and taken to the Electoral Court; he also believes that the conviction of the PSDB member Eduardo Azeredo does not harm the ethical discourse of the PSDB.

SP 247 - Former governor of São Paulo and presidential candidate for the PSDB party, Geraldo Alckmin, commented on the second-instance conviction of former governor of Minas Gerais, Eduardo Azeredo, this Tuesday, the 22nd, by the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais. The judges also voted for the immediate execution of the sentence against the politician.

"Regarding the decision of the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais concerning former governor Eduardo Azeredo, I repeat what I have said in similar cases: there is no red, blue, yellow, or green justice. The law is the same for everyone. A court decision is not to be debated, it is to be obeyed," Alckmin posted on Twitter.

He also believes that Azeredo's conviction and possible imprisonment do not harm the PSDB's ethical discourse. "Eduardo Azeredo has been completely removed from party politics for almost ten years," he emphasized, after participating in a luncheon at the Institute for Retail Development (IDV) in São Paulo.
