247 - Maurílio Biagi declined the invitation to join the Workers' Party ticket in São Paulo as Alexandre Padilha's running mate. He hosted a dinner in Ribeirão Preto that brought together Workers' Party members and agribusiness leaders. At the event, sugar mill owners criticized the federal government's administration. After the controller of the Cosan group voiced complaints against Dilma Rousseff's management, the Cutrale family sought help from the former president's interlocutors within the Workers' Party regarding the impasse at the Port of Santos.

Maurílio Biagi will not be Alexandre Padilha's running mate. According to a political source, the businessman's decision was communicated to Lula and to the pre-candidate for governor of São Paulo himself shortly after the dinner Biagi organized to welcome members of the Workers' Party and business leaders on Friday in Ribeirão Preto.

It is worth noting that Biagi – a member of the PR party since October – participated in the PT meeting in the city on Saturday.
