BARCELONA (Reuters) - Barcelona is not considering selling Brazilian striker Neymar, the Spanish club's vice-president of finance, Susana Monje, said on Wednesday.
Neymar, who is negotiating a renewal of his current contract, which expires in June 2018, has been linked by the Spanish media to a possible transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
"Neymar's contract renewal is a sporting matter," Susana stated at a press conference where she discussed the club's importance to the city of Barcelona.
"We haven't studied the impact of hypothetically losing Neymar. We haven't even considered it."
The newspaper El Mundo Deportivo reported on Wednesday that French champions PSG have proposed doubling Neymar's salary to 30 million euros net per season.
Neymar has just completed his third season at Barça since leaving Santos. He scored 31 goals in 48 appearances last season, helping the team win La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
The 24-year-old player did not play in the Copa América Centenario at the request of Barcelona, who preferred to rest him, but he will play in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games as one of the three players over the permitted age of 23 that Brazil is entitled to field.
