Alagoas247 - Five armed men invaded the University of Health Sciences of Alagoas (Uncisal), late Wednesday night (27), and stole all the money that was stored in the ATMs. Two security guards were subdued and tied up. One of them was forced to take off his uniform and hand it over to one of the bandits, who put on the clothes and went to the front of the teaching unit, where he pretended to be an employee of the place.

According to the coordinator of the Integrated Center for Social Defense Operations (Ciods), Captain Antônio Marcos, the bandits used a blowtorch to open the ATMs. The operation began around 23:30 PM and they only left Uncisal around 2:30 AM. During this time, the security guards remained tied up in the reception area, and one of them was assaulted and threatened after receiving a call from his wife.

According to the police, the bandits were not wearing hoods. They reportedly entered Uncisal through the side wall, which provides access to the Hélvio Auto Hospital. According to information from the victims, the bandits had a Minas Gerais accent and were well-organized, even using walkie-talkies.

The amount of money taken from the two ATMs, one from Banco do Brasil and the other from Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF), had not been tallied by early this morning. The five men fled in an unknown manner, and police believe the vehicles used during the escape were parked some distance from the school.

Another case - Yesterday, two men entered the Banco do Brasil branch located on Rua do Sol, in downtown Maceió, broke down the door separating the area where the ATMs are located and the customer service area, and stole at least one monitor. As of Wednesday, the Civil Police had already recorded 40 bank robberies in Alagoas in 2014 alone.
