The Vila Velha neighborhood has reinforced security with the expansion of the BPRaio (Special Police Battalion).
The Vila Velha neighborhood was the recipient, on Tuesday night (31), of the reinforcement of the Battalion of Policing Rounds and Intensive and Ostensive Actions (BPRaio) to act in the fight against crime. The 38 police officers who will carry out patrolling in the neighborhood and region were presented, who will have 18 motorcycles and a patrol car for the operations. "We are going to double the operational capacity of the BPRaio in Fortaleza. It is the most capable in the Police to face crime. The police officers are skilled with motorcycles, they are well armed. Ceará 247 - Governor Camilo Santana (PT) has been continuing the process that will double the operational capacity of the Battalion of Policing Rounds and Intensive and Ostensive Actions (BPRaio) in the capital of Ceará. This Tuesday (31), it was the turn of the Vila Velha neighborhood to receive the reinforcement of the group to act in the fight against crime. On the occasion, the 38 police officers specialized in the "Raio Doctrine" who will carry out patrolling in the neighborhood and region were presented, which will have 18 motorcycles and a patrol car for operations.
"I made a commitment to bring the Raio (Special Police Battalion) to all regions of Ceará. And so we did. And the work was so good that I committed to placing the battalion in all cities with more than 50 inhabitants. We have already installed them in Maracanaú and Caucaia. We will double the operational capacity of the BPRaio in Fortaleza. It is the most capable unit in the Police to combat crime. The officers are skilled with motorcycles and well-armed. Now we are here delivering the new teams to Vila Velha, 38 more men. Know that until my last day in office I will not give up on guaranteeing security for the people of Ceará. To the new Raio officers, may God bless you. You are public servants, you are here to serve the people and I have no doubt that you will use all your strength to do so," said the governor.
This first wave of reinforcements for Fortaleza includes 104 police officers, 56 motorcycles, and two exclusive 4x4 vehicles. The Raio unit will be presented in the Parangaba neighborhood next Tuesday (November 7th). Maranguape will be the next city to receive the unit, on November 25th. The investment totals over R$ 2,8 million for these three neighborhoods in Fortaleza alone.
By April of next year, the group will be reinforced by an additional 202 police officers, fulfilling the commitment of the Government of Ceará to double the operational capacity of the Raio unit in Fortaleza.
