The game had everything to be the one for Bahia's recovery in the Brasileirão, but it only served to further irritate the Tricolor fans. The 2-2 draw with Coritiba (after being 2-0 up) on Sunday afternoon (22), left Esquadrão in the relegation zone, in 19th position, with eight points. Now it's up to Caio Júnior, Marcelo Guimarães Filho and company.

Bahia showed themselves to be the better team on the field in the first half, scoring the first goal of the match just 9 minutes in. Zé Roberto advanced down the left, crossed into the area, Souza controlled the ball, turned past his marker and shot past Vanderlei. The second goal came just one minute into the second half. Mancini found the back of the net for Coritiba after receiving a pass from Kléberson.

However, after the second goal, Bahia relaxed and their game faded, opening space for Coritiba to grow on the field and also score. Robinho crossed to Everton Costa, who headed the ball into the back of the net. Two minutes later, Emerson received a pass from midfielder Robinho and shot directly at Marcelo Lomba's goal, leveling the score at Pituaçu.

In the final minutes of the match, the Bahia team missed two great chances to break the tie, but shot wide. Coach Caio Júnior, who will replace Paulo Roberto Falcão as Bahia's manager, watched from the stands as the team was booed at the end of the game.
