The Costa do Sauípe hotel complex, in Mata de São João, 76 kilometers from Salvador, on the North Coast, will host the 2014 Annual Meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

The ceremony to launch Bahia as the host city will take place on March 16th in Panama City, where this year's meeting will be held between the 13th and 17th of next month.

This Wednesday (20), Governor Jaques Wagner received an invitation from the IDB president, Luiz Alberto Moreno, to participate in the annual meeting. Wagner said he will evaluate the invitation, as the launch date coincides with his birthday, according to the Bahia Notícias website.

To celebrate Bahia's selection, the government will set up a stand at the event venue featuring videos, distribution of brochures and publications of a cultural, touristic and investment-attracting nature, as well as products of Bahian cuisine and local handicrafts.

In Brazil, there have been three editions of this event, one in Rio de Janeiro, another in Ceará, and the last one in Minas Gerais.
