Bahia plays poorly and loses 3-1 to Criciúma.

With the terrible lineup that took the field, Tricolor offered no surprises and became easy prey for the home team in their Brazilian Championship debut this Sunday; Diones scored the only goal for the Bahia team in the second half; fans continue their protest demanding the removal of Marcelo Guimarães Filho from the club's presidency, and only 30 supporters traveled to Santa Catarina.

Criciúma made a good impression in their first game since returning to the top tier of Brazilian football. This Sunday, in front of their home crowd at the Heriberto Hülse stadium, the Santa Catarina team beat Bahia 3-1 and had a good start to the Brasileirão. Lins, João Vitor and Matheus Ferraz scored for Criciúma, while Diones scored for Bahia – who were making their debut as coach Cristóvão Borges.

With the support of their fanatical fans, Criciúma launched an attack right from the start, putting pressure on Bahia. And just three minutes in, Marcel forced Marcelo Lomba into action. The Bahia goalkeeper's life in the game wouldn't be easy. In the 19th minute, Bruno Renan unleashed a powerful shot from outside the area, and Lomba once again saved the Tricolor, sending it out for a corner.

Gradually, Bahia tried to balance the game, but only threatened Bruno's goal with crosses into the box. However, the best chance for the team managed by Cristóvão Borges came from a set piece. Marquinhos took a free kick and the ball hit the post. Lins, the most dangerous player for the Santa Catarina team, wasted a great chance by shooting over the opponent's goal. When the first half seemed to be ending goalless, Marlon took a free kick and defender Matheus Ferraz headed it in to open the scoring and send the Tigre fans into a frenzy.

The second half couldn't have started better for the Santa Catarina team. In the very first minute, Lins took advantage of a loose ball to make it 2-0. At six minutes, João Vítor tried to extend the lead, but Omar, who had come on for Lomba, made an excellent save. Bahia had a chance to reduce the deficit at 15 minutes, but Bruno made a reflex save from Fernandão's shot.

After much persistence, the Bahia team was rewarded in the 27th minute, with Diones finishing into the back of the net. The goal energized the Tricolor, who went in search of an equalizer. But then came the decisive blow from Tigre. João Vítor received a long pass and volleyed it home for a beautiful goal, sealing the victory and increasing the opponent's agony.
