Bahia is a leader in job creation in the Northeast.

Bahia 247 - Figures released by the General Register of Employed and Unemployed (Caged), of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, this Friday (22), reveal that Bahia continues to lead job creation in the Northeast region in 2013. According to Caged, there are almost 50 thousand new jobs between January and October.

In the year-to-date figures for the region, Bahia is followed by Ceará (41,500 new jobs), Pernambuco (24,600), Maranhão (16,700), Piauí (12,800), Paraíba (12,200), Sergipe (11,700) and Rio Grande do Norte (9,700). Alagoas is the only northeastern state to register a negative balance in the period, with a decrease of 5,600 jobs.
