The housing allowance for state deputies in Minas Gerais has been officially reinstated; now, parliamentarians will receive approximately three thousand reais more each month in their paychecks to cover housing expenses, totaling more than R$ 28 per month.
Minas 247 - The reinstatement of housing allowance for state deputies in Minas Gerais was approved in plenary session. The measure was accepted with a certain majority within the parliament - 36 votes in favor against 20 who were against the allowance which, added to the parliamentarians' salaries, totals R$ 28 per month.
With this decision, the state will pay approximately 10 million reais by the end of the term to cover housing for parliamentarians, and more than half of those elected already own apartments in Belo Horizonte or the metropolitan region.
