The rally in Marcolândia, a town of 8 inhabitants, drew a large crowd to see Lula.

"Thinking that's a small crowd for a Lula rally? Well, know that it's in Marcolândia, a small town in Piauí with 8 inhabitants at the highest point of the Chapada do Araripe, between Ceará, Pernambuco and Piauí, at almost 750 meters altitude," writes Fernando Brito, from Tijolaço; "That's why Marcolândia, despite its poverty, now lessened, contributes to the Brazilian economy by housing a large wind power generation park, completed during Dilma's government."

By Fernando Brito, brick - You think there aren't enough people for a Lula rally?

Well, you should know that it's in Marcolândia, a small town in Piauí with 8 inhabitants at the highest point of the Chapada do Araripe, between Ceará, Pernambuco and Piauí, at almost 750 meters of altitude.

That is why Marcolândia, despite its poverty, now lessened, contributes to the Brazilian economy by housing a large wind power generation park, completed during Dilma's government.

There are 317 towers, which did not involve taking land away from family farmers: they rent the right to install the wind turbines of the largest generating park in the state to the generating company for around R$1.300.

Despite six years of drought, yesterday's wind power generation represented three times the hydroelectric generation in the region: an average of 4,6 megawatts compared to 1,5 MWmed from the depleted waters of the Northeast, where Sobradinho is at only 7% of its reservoir volume.

Are our windmills still a quixotic notion?

Marcolândia knows that's not the case. And it went out under the midday sun to salute those who began to write progress in the air.

But that's not what's written in the newspapers.
