"How long will the Brazilian justice system continue to be a disgrace?", asks congressman.

"Poll commissioned by the coup-supporting Globo network shows Lula leading by a wide margin with 37% of the vote! How long will the Brazilian justice system continue to embarrass itself and not speak out in favor of the UN decision, which guarantees Lula's political rights and ensures his candidacy?", questioned Congressman Marcon (PT-RS).

Rio Grande do Sul 247 - Federal deputy Marcon (PT-RS) harshly criticized the Brazilian justice system, which imprisoned former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the absolute leader in all electoral polls.

"Poll commissioned by the coup-supporting Globo network shows Lula leading by a wide margin with 37% of the vote! How long will the Brazilian justice system continue to embarrass itself and remain silent in favor of the UN decision, which guarantees Lula's political rights and ensures his candidacy?", the congressman questioned.

A survey by Ibope/Estadão/TV Globo, released on Monday night (20), showed Lula in first place, with 37% of the votes. In second place is Bolsonaro, with 18%. Behind Bolsonaro is former senator Marina Silva, from Rede (6%), followed by former minister Ciro Gomes (PDT) and former governor of São Paulo Geraldo Alckmin (PSDB), with 5% each.

Following them are Alvaro Dias, from Podemos (3%), Eymael (DC), Guilherme Boulos (PSOL), Henrique Meirelles (MDB) and João Amoêdo (Novo) with 1% each. Cabo Daciolo (Avante), Vera (PSTU) and João Goulart Filho (PPL) did not score. Blank/null votes: 16%; don't know/no answer: 6%.

Former President Lula was convicted without evidence in the Guarujá (SP) triplex apartment case, with a sentence contested by several legal experts. However, when presenting the indictment in September 2016, prosecutor Henrique Pozzebon admitted that there was no "conclusive proof" that Lula owned the property, which, according to the prosecution, was being renovated by OAS for the former president in exchange for contracts with Petrobras.

Last week, the UN Human Rights Committee officially stated that Lula has the right to be a presidential candidate. The UN determined that the Brazilian State "take all necessary measures to allow the author [Lula] to enjoy and exercise his political rights from prison as a candidate in the 2018 presidential elections, including appropriate access to the press and members of his political party" and "not to prevent the author [Lula] from running in the 2018 presidential elections until all pending appeals against his conviction are completed in a fair procedure and the conviction is final."see here) ".
