Ataídes: By 2018, Lula wants to 'disassociate' himself from Dilma.
Senator Ataídes Oliveira (PSDB-TO) criticized former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for stating, according to Oliveira on April 24th, that President Dilma Rousseff "should show what she was elected for in her second term"; for Ataídes, former president Lula "acts this way" because he wants to "dissociate his image from the president's image in order to try to return to power in the 2018 elections"; "Now you want to detach your image from President Dilma's to return in 2018 as the savior of the nation," he stated.
Tocantins 247 - Senator Ataídes Oliveira (PSDB-TO) criticized former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for stating, according to the senator on April 24th, that President Dilma Rousseff "should show what she was elected for in her second term."
According to the senator from the PSDB party, former president Lula "acts this way" because he wants "to dissociate his image from the president's image in order to try to return to power in the 2018 elections."
"Now you want to distance yourself from President Dilma so you can return in 2018 as the savior of the nation," Ataídes stated. The politician from the PSDB party compared former President Lula to Odorico Paraguaçu, a character created by the writer Dias Gomes and portrayed on television by the actor Paulo Gracindo. "But you're not Sassá Mutema, you're more like Odorico Paraguaçu. This time, former President Lula, your plan won't work," Ataídes affirmed.
The senator alleges, however, that everything President Dilma has done wrong is Lula's fault, because she follows the former president's playbook. Proof of this, according to Ataídes Oliveira, is that 5 of the 7 ministers dismissed by Dilma had been appointed by the former president. The PSDB member also said that it was during Lula's government, and not Fernando Henrique Cardoso's (PSDB), that the Petrobras financial scandal began.
