247 - The Brazilian Association of Closed Complementary Pension Entities (Abrapp) met this Tuesday (7) with the special committee in the Chamber that debates the regulation of app-based workers.

Abrapp suggested a pension fund model for the retirement benefits of these professionals, according to information published in Panel columnThe association represents closed supplementary pension entities.

The organization's proposal offers two alternatives: one in which the worker contributes a percentage of their earnings, which can increase or decrease according to their cash flow. In the other scenario, the platforms can also contribute amounts proportional to the workers' income, which would encourage participation.

Another point brought to the parliamentarians was the proposal that the government provide tax incentives to allow contributions to be deductible from workers' income tax.

"Implementing this model educates workers about the importance of financial planning for the future, encouraging retirement savings habits and promoting greater awareness of the importance of accumulating reserves for retirement," the association argues.

The number of app-based workers in Brazil increased by 170%, rising from 770 in 2015 to 2,1 million in 2025, according to the Central Bank's Monetary Policy Report for the third quarter of 2025. The statistics were released on September 25th.
