Goiás 247 - The National Association of Members of the Public Ministry to Combat Corruption (AMPCOC) spoke out this Thursday (14) about the disciplinary complaint filed by the National Council of the Public Ministry (CNMP) against the prosecutor of the Public Ministry of Goiás, Fernando Krebs. The notification against the prosecutor was made after statements to the journalism of the new Rádio Brasil Central (RBC).

The exclusive interview with prosecutor Fernando Krebs for the new RBC was conducted on the 7th of this month. Krebs said that the Supreme Federal Court minister, Gilmar Mendes, “is the biggest laxative in Brazil” for “releasing everyone, especially white-collar criminals”.

In the statement, AMPCOC repudiates the opening of the disciplinary complaint and affirms that the action goes against the free expression of thought and intellectual freedom of expression. "It so happens that, in addition to Dr. Fernando Krebs' statement being within the constitutional right to freedom of expression, which guarantees him the right to make criticisms – even strong ones – of decisions of the Judiciary, it is necessary to register some facts," says the statement regarding the prosecutor's declarations to the new RBC.

"AMPCOC, supported by more than one hundred members of the Brazilian Public Prosecutor's Office, expresses its conviction that the dismissal of the proceedings is the fairest, most appropriate and correct measure to be adopted," emphasizes the statement, which is signed by the vice-president of AMPCOC, Eduardo de Paula Machado.
