Tocantins 247 - The president of the Legislative Assembly of Tocantins, Mauro Carlesse (PHS), removed from the agenda the proposal by deputy Valdemar Júnior (PMDB) to grant Michel Temer the title of citizen of Tocantins.

Contrary to the honor, the Workers' Party (PT) deputy José Roberto Forzani said that the measure is "degrading for the State and for the Assembly. "A man who bought 251 votes for R$ 32 million to stay in power, led 6 million people to the hunger map, handed over Brazil's wealth and reduced the minimum wage... This man should receive a title of repudiation, it would be the most consistent thing given what he does to our country. I not only vote against it but I hope it is never awarded," criticized Forzani, according to the T1 News.

Also opposing the bill, Representative José Bonifácio (PR) assessed the president's low popularity. "Given the current state of this country, I don't think it's viable to grant the title of honorary citizen of Tocantins to a president who doesn't even have 3% approval. It's not because he's from the PMDB, no, it's because he doesn't deserve it. The Brazilian people are rejecting him, and we're going to grant him that title?" questioned Bonifácio. Wanderley Barbosa (SD) also opposed it, arguing that he didn't see the importance of the matter for Tocantins.

In the same session, honorary citizenship titles from Tocantins were granted to the Minister of National Integration, Helder Barbalho, former Governor of the State Moisés Avelino, and Federal Deputy for the State of Alagoas, Maurício Lessa (PR-AL). The proposals were authored by Olyntho Neto (PSDB) and Valdemar Júnior (PMDB), respectively.
