Harassment against women is the theme of an advertising campaign promoted by students.
In an initiative of the Communication Tutorial Education Program (PETCom), students from the Advertising and Journalism courses at UFC are developing a campaign on sexual harassment against women, aiming to draw the attention of the academic community and society to the issue.
In times of increased violence against women, which in recent days, with the gang rape of a 16-year-old girl by 30 men, shocked Brazil and the world, students from the Advertising and Journalism courses at UFC are developing a campaign on sexual harassment against women, aiming to draw the attention of the academic community and society to the issue. The initiative is from the Communication Tutorial Education Program (PETCom) and includes the distribution of posters on the University campuses, as well as the dissemination of the materials on social media.
The campaign, the result of research conducted with female students from the University, features illustrations by Silvelena Gomes, a student in the Advertising and Public Relations course, from the Tiporelas project. The initiative aims to raise awareness about what constitutes harassment.
Based on the data collected in the research, it was concluded that many of the interviewees only identified harassment when it occurred with another woman, and that there is a difficulty in understanding what harassment actually is. PETCom decided to launch the campaign after reports of abuse occurring in universities across the country.
