After rejection by the Regional Electoral Court, PRTB withdraws its candidacy for governor.
Luís Cláudio, the PRTB gubernatorial candidate, released a statement to the press announcing his withdrawal from the race. The candidate acknowledges that his candidacy registration request was filed after the deadline, which led the Regional Electoral Court to reject the PRTB's Demonstration of Regularity of Party Acts (DRAP). The full court upheld the candidacies registered before the intervention of the national executive committee. The party's airtime in the electoral campaign will be divided according to electoral law.
Tocantins 247 - The Regional Electoral Court of Tocantins (TRE) deemed the Demonstration of Regularity of Party Acts (Drap) of the PRTB, carried out by the party's intervention commission, untimely and rejected it, and disqualified Luís Cláudio's candidacy for governor. The Plenary maintained the candidacies registered before the intervention of the national executive, when the party was part of the coalition "The change we see".
With this decision, one-third of the party's political advertising time on radio and TV will be divided equally among the parties, and two-thirds will be distributed proportionally to the number of representatives in the Federal Chamber; in the case of a coalition, the result will be the sum of the number of representatives of all the parties that comprise it.
The party's gubernatorial candidate, Luís Cláudio, released a statement to the press announcing his withdrawal from the race. In the text, the candidate acknowledges the irregularity in his candidacy registration.

"NOTICE
Unfortunately, due to legal issues, I am withdrawing my candidacy for Governor of Tocantins.
In a repeated decision, the Regional Electoral Court (TRE) rejected my candidacy, alleging that my registration was untimely (outside the deadline). After a thorough analysis of the decision, I believe that the court is correct. Regrettably, even with the appeal filed with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), I acknowledge that my registration was made on July 12th, a date that the TRE does not recognize as legitimate for the approval of the candidacy. I have a clean record and, as such, I wish to remain so.
I did my part and, while I could, I tried to contribute to the process in a democratic and enlightening way, with important proposals and ideas for the development of our Tocantins. I wish the remaining candidates all the luck in the world and hope that the people can choose the one who presents the best proposals.
My decision stems from respect for ethics and transparency, which have always guided my public and personal life. I am grateful for the support of my beloved Gurupi, my family and friends, the affection of the voters of Tocantins, and I renew my commitment that we have only taken the first step on a long journey.
Cordially,
LUÍS CLÁUDIO BARBOSA
