247 - The Lava Jato task force has authorized access to the investigation into the Guarujá triplex for the lawyers of former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. On Friday, Lula's lawyers filed a complaint with the Supreme Federal Court (STF) accusing Judge Sérgio Moro of preventing access to the case file. According to the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office, there was an error by the investigators in associating the investigations into the alleged acquisition of Triplex 164-A apartment in the Solaris Residential Condominium with the case number requested by Lula's lawyers.
"There is a material error in the petition presented by this ministerial body in event 96, because, in truth, case file no. 5035245-28.2016.4.04.7000 does not correspond to a Police Inquiry or is intended for the investigation of illicit acts related to the alleged acquisition of the apartment," they state in a petition sent to Judge Sérgio Moro this Tuesday.
Former president Lula's lawyers announced on Friday (19) that they had filed a complaint with the STF against the federal judge. In the action, Lula's lawyers claim that the magistrate violated a rule established by the STF that ensures the defense broad access to any investigation. For the lawyers, the judge "is acting illegally" by allegedly preventing Lula's defense from having access to investigative proceedings that are underway in the courts against the PT member.
