Jorgensen's miss in Sunday's penalty shootout led to Denmark's elimination from the tournament following a 1-1 draw with Croatia at the Nizhny Novgorod stadium.
"Enough is enough. Our society can never accept death threats — not against World Cup stars, politicians, or anyone else. It is completely unacceptable and indecent," the Danish association said in a statement on Twitter. "We are reporting the case to the police to put an end to this madness."
Three Danes missed penalty kicks, giving Croatia a 3-2 victory, but Jorgensen was the last of them, receiving threats and offensive comments on his Instagram and Facebook profiles.
Many fans reacted with a great show of support for the player.
