Aparecida celebrates its 91st anniversary with a giant cake and parade.
The anniversary celebrations were marked by the announcement of public works and the participation of political authorities from all political parties; Mayor Maguito Vilela highlighted the construction of the 3rd Municipal Forum and the Alameda da Paz (Peace Avenue), a project that connects the city center to Avenida São Paulo, on the border with Goiânia.
Secom Aparecida_ “How beautiful my city is! How beautiful this party is! I’m truly moved.” The sincere phrase is from Dona Simone, a 53-year-old resident of Aparecida, who participated in the Aparecida de Goiânia birthday party this Saturday morning (11) in the city center. Proudly, she ate a piece of the 91-meter cake made especially for the celebration and guaranteed: “God willing, I will be alive for the 100th anniversary of this city that never stops growing.”
Mrs. Simone is right. At almost a century old, Aparecida de Goiânia grows every day. So much so that in just over four years it has doubled its budget execution, from R$ 308 million to R$ 612 million. To ensure this progress continues, numerous new initiatives were announced during the civic parade this Saturday morning.
Representing President Dilma Rousseff, the Deputy Chief of Federal Affairs of the Secretariat of Institutional Relations, Olavo Noleto, announced that the agreement with the Ministry of Health for the construction of the Municipal Hospital of Aparecida will be signed this year. "It's more than a gift; it's a commitment from President Dilma Rousseff to this city, which has done so much for its own future. It therefore deserves all the attention of the Federal Government," stated the representative of the Presidency of the Republic.
Mayor Maguito Vilela highlighted the construction of the 3rd Municipal Forum of Aparecida and the Alameda da Paz (Peace Avenue), a project that connects the city center to Avenida São Paulo, on the border between the municipality and Goiânia. While guaranteeing training for the 250 recruits from the Municipal Guard who were in the stands, the mayor thanked everyone for their presence. “You are the greatest asset of this city. Together, we will make Aparecida the best city to live in,” emphasized the mayor.
The parade also featured the participation of Governor Marconi Perillo, who highlighted the partnership between the municipality and the state government and emphasized projects such as the Vapt-Vupt service center in the Garavelo sector, the reconstruction and lighting of GO-040, the renovation of all state schools, and the construction of the Forensic Medical Institute (IML) in Aparecida. "Aparecida is the second most important city in the state and needs adequate infrastructure to serve its population," he explained.
Also present were all the secretaries of the municipal administration and councilors, in addition to federal deputies Sandro Mabel and Pedro Chaves (PMDB); Senator Lúcia Vânia (PSDB); state deputies Daniel Vilela (PMDB), Mauro Rubem (PT), Marlúcio Pereira (PTB) and Ademir Menezes (PSD); the president of the Chamber, councilor Gustavo Mendanha and other authorities.
History
While a paragliding display in the sky made the celebration even more beautiful, on Avenida Independência, Aparecida's achievements were portrayed to the thousands of people who watched everything from the stands and the lawn. A covered structure was set up so that the public could watch the traditional civic parade more comfortably.
The parade began with the playing of the hymns of Aparecida de Goiânia and the National Anthem, sung by a children's choir. Floats recalled the history of the municipality, such as the pequi float, the model of the Main Church, and the truck of the Association of Catireiros, Foliões and Quadrilhas of Aparecida de Goiânia. The festival also surprised with its punctuality. It started at 8:30 am and ended at noon, as stipulated by the organizing committee.
The parade featured the participation of all municipal departments, showcasing their main services; municipal and state schools; PETI programs and other groups assisted by the Social Assistance Department; the Military Police; Civil Police; Fire Department; residents' associations; senior citizen associations; marching bands from invited municipalities such as Guapó and Hidrolândia; partner institutions of the municipality such as the Associação Vida Abundante (AVA); among other participants.
The Aparecida anniversary celebrations continue with the Aparecida é Show program. The big attraction tonight is the country singer Gustavo Lima. Local artists, rodeo, nightclubs, amusement park, food court and exhibition stands complete the attractions of the big party, which will end tomorrow, Sunday (12), with a show by the singer Leonardo. In honor of Mother's Day, women will not pay admission.
