ANAC publishes bidding document for Galeão and Confins airport auction.

Rio247 – In a notice published in the early hours of this Friday (4), the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) complied with the recommendations of the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU) and was less demanding in the requirements for the privatization auction of Galeão (RJ) and Confins (Minas Gerais) airports, scheduled for November 22. In the case of the Rio de Janeiro airport, the minimum bid will have to be R$ 4,8 billion and at least one operator to which the consortium of companies is integrated must have a minimum experience of 22 million passengers transported per year in the last five years. As for the Minas Gerais airport, the bid must reach R$ 1,1 billion, whose operator must have an experience of 12 million passengers per year in the same period mentioned by the operator.

Regarding the number of passengers transported, the government had initially set a target of 35 million for Galeão and 20 million for Confins. The consortia have until November 18th to submit the documentation. The winning bid will be the one offering the highest concession fee, with a term of 25 years (Galeão) and 30 years (Confins).

There is no longer enough time to form new consortia with smaller operators, a suggestion that came from the TCU itself, because, despite the changes, the bidding schedule has been maintained. To date, six consortia have already formed to compete in the auction for the two airports. According to the bidding rules, Infraero remains a minority partner with a 49% stake, and the private sector holds the majority stake (51%).
