Expansion of the Belo Horizonte metro will undergo further surveys.
After the downtown area, now it's the turn of Carandaí Avenue and Bahia Street. In total, 11 new boreholes in the central region will be drilled to obtain information about the subsoil. If the expansion goes ahead, it will create metro line 3, which connects Lagoinha to the Savassi region.
Minas 247 - The Public Metropolitan Train Company of Belo Horizonte S/A (Metrominas), controlled by the state government, begins this Monday (21), new services for the expansion of the Belo Horizonte metro.
The surveys take place between Carandaí Avenue and Bahia Street, in the area where the Handicraft Fair is held on Sundays.
In this phase, 11 boreholes will be drilled, between the central median and sidewalks, which will provide relevant information about the subsoil such as soil and rock types, resistance, water level, among others.
The work is expected to be completed by the end of February.
The surveys will serve as input for the Line 3 Projects - Savassi – Lagoinha Section, entirely underground, with a length of 4,5 kilometers, whose proposed axis begins in the Lagoinha Complex region, near the Bus Station, passing through Avenida Afonso Pena, turning onto Rua Pernambuco and ending near the Pátio Savassi Shopping Mall.
