Amastha: There will be no negotiation with striking teachers.

Amastha said that the city hall is working to ensure that all employees receive their base salary increase by the end of December. According to the mayor, three days before the strike began, 64% of public employees had received their base salary increase in August. R$ 600 was paid to education professionals, representing the first installment, as promised. "By the end of December, all employees will receive their base salary increase," he added.

The mayor spoke about the criteria adopted for the base salary payment and stated that, from 2013 until this Tuesday, more than R$ 14 million has been paid out in relation to the career advancement of Education employees, reaching a total of 6.673 benefits.

According to Amastha, on August 31, 2017 alone, R$ 360.078,57 was paid to 1.941 employees, relating to the first of 24 installments that will total R$ 8.641.885,68, fulfilling the agreement signed with the category.
