Tocantins 247 - In the presence of the community, the mayor of Palmas, Carlos Amastha (PP), signed the service order on Wednesday evening, the 8th, for the company Forma Engenharia Ltda to begin drainage, earthmoving and paving works in the Santo Amaro sector.

The project includes the installation of 4 meters of drainage network and the paving of 52 m², representing an investment of R$ 3.673.071,25, with funds from the Federal Government and a 5% contribution from the Municipality of Palmas. The project execution period is 12 months, which may be extended.

During the event, Amastha explained to the residents the problems the City Hall faced with the company Vale do Tocantins Engenharia, Comércio e Serviços Ltda, which won the bid but did not carry out the services. "On August 28th, we signed the contract with the company, we gave them a five-day deadline, they asked to extend it to ten, we still gave them another deadline, but the company did not start the services. In record time, we managed to terminate the contract and call the third-placed company in the bidding process, which will carry out the work."

The mayor also emphasized his commitment to the sector. "As soon as I took office, I vetoed the master plan law that left Santo Amaro out. We came here to begin the land regularization process, and now we will start this infrastructure and urbanization project. Rest assured that the result will be better than you imagine."

According to Tina Pereira Araújo, president of the Santo Amaro Residents' Association, the project is the realization of a long-held dream for the residents of the area. "I believe this project will be carried out; we are confident, because we have already suffered too much with dust and mud."
