Goiás247 - Accompanied by the Secretary of Education, Thiago Peixoto, and the mayor, Hildo do Candango, Governor Marconi Perillo began the distribution of Student Savings Award cards this Monday at the Vereador Érico de Souza Municipal School in Jardim Brasília, Águas Lindas de Goiás. He handed out 236 award cards, equivalent to R$ 1.100,00 per student, deposited into a savings account at Caixa Econômica Federal, to students in the municipality who excelled in school activities this year.

For the second consecutive year, the Student Savings Award, which this year will be given to 10 students in the state public education system (from the 5th to the 9th grade of elementary school and the 3rd year of high school), aims to encourage improved academic performance.

The governor's first commitment in Águas Lindas, however, was the inauguration of the new headquarters of the city's Military Fire Department, which gained 30 new soldiers. The governor was accompanied by the corporation's commander, Colonel Carlos Helbingen Júnior. To further improve the city's infrastructure, Marconi released R$ 18 million to the City Hall, which will be used for urban paving of streets and avenues in the city's neighborhoods.

The governor announced that he is making efforts to build 35 new schools in the cities surrounding the Federal District by the end of next year and signed a service order for the construction of the first ten schools, all of them in the 21st Century Standard model. R$ 42,2 million will be invested in the construction of four schools in Águas Lindas de Goiás, five in Santo Antônio do Descoberto, and one in Padre Bernardo. According to him, 126 state schools in the cities surrounding the Federal District have already been renovated since last year as part of the Nossa Escola program.

Marconi also announced that he will visit 22 cities in Goiás this week alone to deliver the Student Savings Award. He guaranteed that he will illuminate the urban perimeter of BR-070 in Águas Lindas and that the Government of Goiás, through Agetop, is paving the road from Águas Lindas to Brazlândia, facilitating access to Brasília.
