Aloysio, the toucan pit bull: 'I want to see Dilma bleed'
The leader of the most vehement opposition to President Dilma Rousseff's government, Senator Aloysio Nunes Ferreira (PSDB-SP), changed his mind this Monday, the 9th; after participating in a march that called for a new military coup in Brazil, Aloysio Nunes now wants the president to remain in office, but in a cruel way; "I don't want her to leave, I want to bleed Dilma dry," stated the PSDB senator; "I don't want Brazil to be presided over by [Vice-President] Michel Temer [PMDB]," he added; for him, the demonstrations calling for Dilma's impeachment, scheduled for the 15th, are "an expression of rejection of the current order"; according to him, Dilma is disconnected from the national reality.
SP 247 - Senator Aloysio Nunes (PSDB) has changed his mind. After advocating for a military coup to remove President Dilma Rousseff from power, the politician now wants her to remain in office. "I don't want her to leave, I want to bleed Dilma dry," stated Nunes, the "Pit Bull" of the PSDB. "I don't want Brazil to be presided over by [Vice-President] Michel Temer [PMDB]," added the senator, while participating in a seminar at the Fernando Henrique Cardoso Institute (IFHC) in São Paulo.
Regarding the demonstrations scheduled for the 15th, which call for Dilma's impeachment, Aloysio Nunes stated that, although he is now against impeachment, he sees the demonstration in a positive light as it represents a protest against the federal government for a number of reasons, such as the corruption scandals at Petrobras and the fiscal adjustment measures recently announced that were denied by the president during the election campaign.
"I see this word [impeachment] as an expression of rejection of the current order, without going into the merits," he declared. The senator also predicted a political crisis with no way out, given the president's lack of capacity to lead this process. According to him, Dilma is disconnected from the national reality.
The senator, however, acknowledged that the PSDB failed in the political debate during the last presidential elections. "The PSDB allowed the PT to stamp on our skin the idea that we are a party of the elite. We let that become established, that it became a fait accompli. That started to change in this last election," he declared.
