Aécio's ally: "Marina is taking votes away from Dilma"
The Vice-Governor of Alagoas, José Thomaz Nonô (DEM), who is also the coordinator of Aécio Neves' (PSDB-MG) presidential campaign, believes that if Marina Silva (PSB) runs for president, she will take votes away from President Dilma. According to the Democrat, Marina's platforms are conservative for some segments of the Northeast, a stronghold of the PT, and, as a consequence, they tend to support Aécio, which makes it difficult for the former senator to capture votes from the PSDB candidate.
Mines 247 "If Marina becomes the presidential candidate, she will attract votes that belonged to Dilma." This assessment comes from the vice-governor of Alagoas, Jose Thomaz Nonô (DEM), who is also the coordinator of the presidential campaign of former Minas Gerais governor Aécio Neves (PSDB). According to the Democrat, the platforms of the vice-presidential candidate on the PSB ticket, Marina Silva, are conservative for some segments of the Northeast and, as a consequence, tend to migrate to Aécio's candidacy, which makes it difficult for the PSB candidate to take votes away from the PSDB candidate.
According to Nonô, the important thing is for the opposition to President Dilma Rousseff's (PT) government to have "strength", if possible with Marina having more votes than the now former presidential candidate Eduardo Campos (PSB), who died on Wednesday (13), after an air accident in Santos (SP).
"We want the opposition to be strong, and in a possible second round, one candidate can count on the support of the other," the Democrat declared in an interview with Agência Estado. Aécio's campaign coordinator also stated that the election will have a strong "emotional component" with Campos' death.
Sought out as a potential candidate for the presidential election, Marina (PSB), who finished third in the 2010 election with an unexpected 20 million votes, gave her approval for the national president of her party, Roberto Amaral, to consult with the party's main leaders about the possibility of the former senator running for president of the Republic.read more here).

Despite assuring that the PSB will contest the presidential election, the leader declined to comment on who will be running for president under the PSB's banner. "It's not the time to talk about that. The PSB will address this issue next week."
