Aleluia wants to 'avoid new costs' for agriculture.
"The government cannot create more taxes to further burden the productive sector," states the president of the DEM party in Bahia, Deputy José Carlos Aleluia; he was elected rapporteur of Provisional Measure 673/15, which establishes a 'single registration with the competent authority for tractors and other self-propelled equipment intended to pull or drag agricultural machinery or to perform agricultural work'; "We will not allow any new costs to be created to burden Brazilian agriculture, one of the nation's prides for its globally recognized efficiency," promises the Democrat.
Bahia 247 - "The government cannot create more taxes to further burden the productive sector," says the president of DEM in Bahia, federal deputy José Carlos Aleluia. Yesterday (23) he was elected rapporteur of Provisional Measure 673/15 in the Chamber of Deputies. The MP establishes the 'single registration in the competent department of tractors and other self-propelled devices intended to pull or drag agricultural machinery or to perform agricultural work'.
"The Provisional Measure has a noble purpose, the problem is when noble things make people poorer," says Aleluia. According to him, it is necessary to be vigilant so that the registration of agricultural machinery does not create conditions for 'the National Traffic Department and the State Traffic Department to soon want to charge' for vehicle registration and inspection.
"We will not allow any new costs to be created that burden Brazilian agriculture, one of the nation's prides for its globally recognized efficiency."
As the rapporteur for the matter, Aleluia says that his objective "is precisely to protect the agricultural sector from possible future taxation." "We want to prevent the government from continuing to take money from people, as it has been doing today with the traffic departments that have created monumental structures to extort drivers with inspections charged in a nebulous way and with the imposition of unacceptable costs."
"My position is that no fees or taxes should be charged. It's fine to have registration, but it must be entirely free so that it doesn't become an additional burden on agricultural production in the interior of Bahia and Brazil. We want to ensure that there will be no obstacles to production, whether in agriculture or any other productive sector," the Democrat added.
