Aleluia confirms leaving the Mayor's office due to election.

Salvador's Secretary of Transportation and Urban Planning still doesn't know which position he will run for, but assures he will be a candidate in the elections next October; the Democrat said today at the Lavagem do Bonfim festival that if he doesn't run for governor, he might even run for a seat in the Legislative Assembly of Bahia. Bahia 247 - The Secretary of Transportation and Urban Planning of Salvador, José Carlos Aleluia, from the DEM party, still doesn't know which position he will run for, but he guarantees that he will be a candidate in the elections next October.

While making his way to the Sacred Hill to participate in the Bonfim Washing ceremony this Thursday, the Democrat said that if he doesn't run for governor, he might even run for a seat in the Bahia Legislative Assembly. But he assures that he will not be left out of the election.

Aleluia says he maintains his pre-candidacy for the Executive branch, but points out that the priority for the DEM party is to launch former governor Paulo Souto, who has not confirmed his name in the race.

"Paulo Souto is a big name. He has already proven his competence and ability in two terms as governor, elected by the people. If he wants to be the candidate, I have no objection to him. But, until he decides, I maintain my name as a pre-candidate. I want to show what a boy born and raised in Caixa D'Água can do for our Bahia."

The secretary took the opportunity to praise the Bonfim Washing, which yesterday received the title of National Intangible Heritage.

"The Washing of the Church of Senhor do Bonfim is a popular tradition. It harmoniously brings together religious and secular manifestations that symbolize the cultural richness of Bahia. For me, participating in the procession is an opportunity to embody the spirit of Bahian culture."
