The State Government adopts a monthly single-ticket system created by the São Paulo City Hall; now, cards that were only accepted on buses will be valid for trains and the subway; Geraldo Alckmin and Fernando Haddad continue to be the most cordial adversaries in Brazilian politics.
247 – The administrative agreement established between the state government and the city of São Paulo gained more substance this Monday, the 18th. After a meeting in the morning, Governor Geraldo Alckmin and Mayor Fernando Haddad announced the inclusion of the CPTM train network and the São Paulo metro, belonging to the state administration, in the monthly single ticket system, created during Haddad's administration. Until now, tickets from this system were only accepted on municipal buses in the city of São Paulo.
The cards will now cover the entire metropolitan transport network. There was no information regarding the date when the monthly pass will become operational on trains and the metro. The current price of R$ 140 for the card will be updated, but the new price has not yet been announced.
A working group will be formed to implement Alckmin and Haddad's decision. Through actions like this, the two politicians are establishing themselves as the most cordial political adversaries in the country's public administration.
