Alceu Valença criticizes Márcio Thomaz Bastos
"Paying fees with embezzled money, esteemed lawyer, is not an ethical or moral practice," said the singer from Pernambuco on his Facebook page.
247 - The singer and songwriter from Pernambuco, Alceu Valença, used his Facebook page to express his outrage at the choice of a former Minister of Justice to defend the illegal gambling operator Cachoeira.
Read below:
"They say that Carlinhos Cachoeira's lawyer (Márcio Thomaz Bastos) will earn 15 million to defend Cachoeira. This huge sum certainly comes from the plundering of public funds and scams in government service and works concessions. Think how many people were harmed by these practices… Fees paid with embezzled money, illustrious lawyer, is not an ethical or moral practice."
Next, he posted:
"I studied Law, I could have been a lawyer, but I would never accept defending Cachoeira, not even for a flood of money. Everyone has the right to a defense, but the material evidence is compelling and irrefutable. I don't understand how Márcio Tomaz Bastos, former Minister of Justice, stands by and defends the biggest piece of evidence of public corruption of all time."
