Felipe Castanheira, from O Tempo - Cited as a client of Appendix, an agency owned by blogger and lawyer Fernando Gouveia, which received funds from the São Paulo state government and maintained an anti-PT (Workers' Party) website, Brasil Comunicação, from Belo Horizonte, worked for PSDB (Brazilian Social Democracy Party) campaigns. The owner of the Minas Gerais-based company, advertising executive Zuza Nacif, in a telephone conversation with the reporter the day before yesterday, confirmed the relationship with the São Paulo agency and explained that Appendix was contacted by him to provide services in the presidential campaign of Senator Aécio Neves (PSDB).

When contacted, the PSDB party in Minas Gerais confirmed that there was a contract with Brasil Comunicação in 2014, but that the agreement is no longer in effect. Furthermore, the party stated that Appendix did not work on Aécio's campaign.

After the news outlet contacted the PSDB party, Zuza Nacif changed his initial version of events. He stated that Fernando Gouveia's company's involvement was in a different project, carried out in 2013, unrelated to the election campaign. Appendix reportedly received R$ 30 for that project.

The relationship between Brasil Comunicação and the PSDB party is not new. In May 2013, Zuza and the agency were mentioned in an article published on the website of "Veja" magazine. They were identified as administrators of fake online profiles used for posts defending Aécio Neves. At the time, Brasil Comunicação denied providing this type of service to the PSDB, but admitted to having a contract with the party.

The company. The advertising executive stated that Brasil Comunicação's work focuses on website creation and social media marketing planning. However, the company's website is quite simple, consisting of only a blank page with the agency's name, address, and contact phone number.

Although questioned about other clients, Nacif declined to name any more, only mentioning that he also provided services to a bank, whose name was not revealed for "commercial reasons." The advertising executive stated that the agency never had contracts with the government of Minas Gerais.

Activist. This year, Zuza Nacif was cited by the newspaper "Folha de S.Paulo" as one of the people who distributed videos via WhatsApp calling for the protest held on March 15th. The material used images from Aécio Neves' campaign. The advertising executive claimed he lacked the resources to produce videos, even though he owns an advertising agency, and stated that, as a citizen, he has the right to express himself and call on the population to participate in protests across the country.
