Goiás247 - Aécio Neves still preaches caution when speaking about his candidacy for the presidency. He says that internal discussions within the PSDB are still needed, but the senator is currently the party's most critical voice against the Dilma government. The parliamentarian was in Goiânia this Friday for a regional party meeting and spoke about his candidacy.

Welcomed by Marconi Perillo, Aécio said that the governor of Goiás was one of the first PSDB leaders to declare his support for his presidential project.

"I have been receiving expressions of great enthusiasm wherever I go. Governor Marconi himself was perhaps the first of the most prominent PSDB leaders to signal, very clearly, in this direction. But we still have conversations to have within the party, and the essential thing is for the PSDB to present its ideas to Brazil," the senator stated in Goiânia.

Perillo highlighted Aécio's personal qualities for leading a development project for the country. Marconi said that Aécio is a well-regarded politician, both as a parliamentarian and as an executive. "In the government of Minas Gerais, he was the one who truly implemented strategic planning and results-oriented management. He was the one who introduced innovation, modernity, and efficiency to the government of Minas Gerais, as a platform and as a practice of governance," Marconi said, recalling that Aécio was recently the governor with the highest popular approval rating in the country.

The governor also emphasized that Aécio's government served as a model for other states, and some programs were copied by governors like him, such as meritocracy and the Student Savings program.
