Aécio focuses on parties that support Dilma in the Northeast.

The goal of the PSDB candidate is to talk to the leading opposition figures in each state and sound out the parties in President Dilma Rousseff's base that could be free to form local coalitions, such as the Progressive Party (PP) and Geddel Vieira Lima's PMDB in Bahia; the former Minister of Cities and president of the PP in Bahia, Congressman Mário Negromonte, for example, always avoids the question when asked about the possibility of supporting the senator, but does not rule it out; forbidden topics in the meetings will be José Serra and the São Paulo subway.

Senator Aécio Neves's Northeastern tour, which will take place in the middle of next month, will begin in Salvador, probably between the 18th and 25th. With a campaign-like atmosphere, the PSDB's pre-candidate for the presidency will deliver fiery speeches in press conferences, addressing, above all, delayed federal government projects and inflation, despite the stability shown last July.

But outside of the media spotlight, the senator's goal is to talk as much as possible with the leading opposition figures in each state and sound out the parties supporting President Dilma Rousseff that may be free to form local coalitions, such as the Progressive Party (PP) and Geddel Vieira Lima's PMDB in Bahia.

The former Minister of Cities and president of the PP in Bahia, Congressman Mário Negromonte, for example, always avoids the question when asked about the possibility of supporting the PSDB candidate, but does not rule out the possibility.

The PMDB, which has Geddel as its candidate for Governor of Bahia, prefers to support a possible candidacy of the governor of Pernambuco, Eduardo Campos, from the PSB. But information from the PSDB in Salvador indicates that Aécio will also talk to the PMDB members. After all, the party is a fierce opponent of Governor Jaques Wagner, from the PT, and is part of the municipal government of ACM Neto, from the DEM.

And the thorn in the senator's side continues to be his fellow party member José Serra, the 'eternal candidate'. According to the Bahia Notícias website, "a source from the PSDB" confided in him that the former governor of São Paulo has forbidden any ally from making comments on his behalf.

"Serra said he doesn't authorize anyone to speak for him. Only he will decide his own political future, and we have to wait and see."

But, according to Bahia Notícias, the order is to deny any damage, which may turn into some relief at a time when accusations against the cartel in the São Paulo subway system are growing.

Conversations with the governor of Pernambuco and also pre-candidate for the Presidency, Eduardo Campos (PSB), have been "personal and constant," but with only one interlocutor, Aécio himself.
