Aécio eyeing Eduardo Campos' PSB party.

A senator from the PSDB party was in Recife last Friday to participate in the PSDB Women's Congress, but took the opportunity to have a chat with Governor Eduardo Campos (PSB); the Minas Gerais native sees in the Pernambuco governor a possibility of building a bridge with the Northeast region, which, in recent presidential elections, guaranteed victories for the Workers' Party (PT).

Raphael Coutinho _PE247 – Senator-presidential candidate Aécio Neves (PSDB-MG) was in Recife yesterday (18) to participate in the opening of the PSDB Women's Congress, held in the capital of Pernambuco. However, the parliamentarian took advantage of his visit to the city to pay a "courtesy visit" to the governor of Pernambuco, Eduardo Campos (PSB), in an attempt to reinforce the link that exists between their parties, despite the differences in relation to the Federal Government. The Minas Gerais native sees in the Pernambuco governor a possibility of building a bridge with the Northeast Region, which, in recent presidential elections, guaranteed PT victories. The parliamentarian even stated that there is an identity and a similar vision between the two parties in relation to the country.

“I have to respect the PSB’s position today, which is allied with the PT at the federal level. But as I’ve already said, the future belongs to God. Now, there is a shared identity and vision regarding Brazil and its needs. But, out of respect for the governor, I will not discuss future alliances here,” stated Aécio Neves.

The relationship between PSDB and PSB already exists in some states of the country, such as Minas Gerais, for example. "Everything that is natural in politics has a chance of bringing success, and this closeness between PSB and PSDB is not due to positions or spaces, but to a very strong identity that brings together important leaders from both parties," he added.

In Recife, Aécio Neves still distanced himself from the style adopted by the then-PSDB presidential candidate, José Serra, highlighting the need to "revisit" the party's history, even citing "achievements" of the Fernando Henrique Cardoso government, such as the Plano Real (Real Plan).

The day before Aécio's visit to Recife, the national president of the PSDB, federal deputy Sérgio Guerra (PE), declared that the politician from Minas Gerais should be the party's candidate for President of the Republic in 2014.
