Aécio centralizes decisions within the PSDB.

State alliance policies will be submitted to the party leadership so as not to hinder the presidential candidate's project; the senator from Minas Gerais also wants to unify the communication area of the 27 state directorates and transfer decisions regarding his image, previously handled by a marketing consultant, to a board chaired by his sister, Andrea Neves.

247 - The PSDB has adopted a new organizational model similar to the centralized profile of the PT. The party's National Executive Committee is expected to approve a resolution that will subject state alliance policies to the party leadership, so that regional directorates do not hinder the presidential project of the PSDB's candidate, Aécio Neves.

Furthermore, Aécio wants to unify the communication efforts of the 27 state directorates. Marketing actions surrounding the candidate's image will also be shared by a board chaired by Andrea Neves, the senator's sister.

The party denies intervention: "It [the resolution] should not be interpreted as an act of force, of imposition, but of party integration. We will listen, analyze, consider and respect local realities. It is a mechanism for the national leadership of the party to have a more active participation in local politics," said Senator Cássio Cunha Lima from Paraíba.

The strategy is similar to that adopted by the PT in 2010, when the national leadership forced the Maranhão state section to support the re-election of Roseana Sarney, going against the wishes of the majority of the local party to ally with the PCdoB candidate for governor, Flávio Dino (read Valor report (regarding the subject).
