Adelson: "Patience has its limits; secretaries don't respect deputies"

State Representative says demands presented by the government bloc are not being met by state secretaries; in a harsh tone, the parliamentarian said he is "at his limit"; "everyone knows my loyalty, my commitment and my honesty to the government, but I feel that most secretaries have no willingness whatsoever to meet our requests, which are not personal, they are for the people of Sergipe"; is Adelson making his speech of joining the opposition? Will the government lose its majority?

247 - State deputy Adelson Barreto (without party affiliation) made, this Thursday (26), an “indignant and protest” speech against the treatment he has been receiving from the state government’s secretariat. Claiming to be “at his limit”, the parliamentarian said that he has “loyalty, commitment and honor” with the government, but stressed that he has been disrespected by most of the state secretaries.

“I want to draw the attention of Gualberto and Gustinho. I also ask for Garibalde's attention to what I am about to say, because, similarly, he has also been suffering from the problems I am going to refer to. We, the deputies, who are part of the government's support base in this house, have long complained about the treatment we have received from the state secretaries, the lack of attention and respect. We had a meeting with the governor and all the secretaries and we had the impression that things were going to change, but that meeting only served to worsen the situation,” he stated.

Adelson recalled that he has constantly complained about the road that provides access to the Timbó Water Park in Salgado, but his request has not been addressed. “I called the DER (Department of Roads and Highways) five times. I submitted a request here in the Assembly to the governor, but nothing has been done. When I contact the secretaries, I don't ask for anything personal; I ask for improvements in the lives of the people of Sergipe. It takes up to three months to get a response from the secretaries, but the request is never fulfilled. I have done my part, but I haven't received the respect I deserve. The secretary is never available to meet with me. This happens to all the deputies, but I feel it's worse for me. Patience has its limits. Déda and Jackson's secretaries don't respect the deputies,” he complained.

The speech given this Thursday by Adelson may be a clear indication of his move to the opposition bloc to the government. Adelson has been talking with the leader of the opposition group in Sergipe, Edivan Amorim, and may be the new leader of the PTB in the State. It is likely that a decision by the parliamentarian will be made by this Friday (27), when the opposition will hold a membership plenary and put together the electoral project for 2014.
