Acrísio Sena: "The PT's alliance in Fortaleza is with the people"

According to councilman Acrísio Sena, the PT (Workers' Party) will face the electoral process in Fortaleza "in alliance with the people and with a government program more focused on the periphery and the poor people of the city." The PT was unable to form an alliance with any other party and will run alone in the 2016 elections.

Ceará247 - Having failed to form an alliance with any party in Fortaleza for the 2016 elections, councilman Acrísio Sena (PT) stated today that "the PT's alliance is with the people of Fortaleza." In an interview with journalist Lauriberto Braga of the Fortaleza News Agency, Acrísio considers yesterday's convention an important moment that revived activism and ties with social movements. According to him, the strategy to face the electoral contest is also based on "a government program more focused on caring for people, a government program with a more popular profile, more focused on the periphery and the poor people of the city."

Yesterday (1), the PT held the convention that approved the ticket that will compete for the Fortaleza City Hall, with federal deputy Luizianne Lins as candidate for mayor and state deputy Elmano de Freitas as vice. For Acrísio, the choice of Elmano de Freitas as vice was also correct and strengthens the ticket. The convention also approved the list of councilors. Acrísio will try to be re-elected for a second term in the Fortaleza City Council.
