Mayor ACM Neto (DEM) received opposition councilors at the start of his term. The Democrat met with the group this Tuesday (15) and, by common agreement, a 'pact for Salvador' was established, whose objective is to seal unity between the Executive and Legislative branches.

At the end, the opposition described the meeting as 'satisfactory'. Among those present were the minority representatives on the Board of Directors, Fabíola Mansur (PSB); and Arnando Lessa (PT), 1st secretary; as well as the substitute ombudsman Everaldo Augusto (PCdoB).

Mansur suggested to the mayor the creation of a Special Ombudsman for Women, while the communist requested the expansion of bike lanes in the city. Lessa, on the other hand, asked that ACM Neto follow the example of former mayor Manoel Castro, who always received the opposition.

The mayor stated that he intends to meet with council members, including those opposed to his administration, every Tuesday and Thursday, in hearings requested through the special advisor for Institutional Affairs, Pedro Godinho.

"I am very happy because we made a pact for the city. I was very pleased with the meeting," said Fabíola Mansur.

Earlier, the mayor met with the other members of the Board. Orlando Palhinha (PP) requested that "the City Council be valued in sending messages [to the mayor's office]", an idea supported by the general inspector, Geraldo Júnior (PTN).

"I recognize the importance of valuing the parliamentary mandate," replied ACM Neto. "The reorganization of the city is important for everyone, for the government and for the Legislative branch. If the city is doing well, the entire political system benefits," analyzed the Democrat, who emphasized that he is open to dialogue.

Also present were the president, Paulo Câmara (PSDB); the 3rd secretary, Cátia Rodrigues (PMN); the substitute ombudsman, Everaldo Augusto (PCdoB); and Fabíola Mansur (PSB). (Information from Bahia Notícias.)
