Bus accident leaves 4 dead and 36 injured.

An accident involving a tour bus left four people dead and 36 injured at kilometer 3 of the ERS-135 highway in Passo Fundo (RS), 300 kilometers from Porto Alegre; according to information from the 1st Road Battalion of the Military Brigade, responsible for the region, the vehicle plunged down an embankment.

Brasilia – An accident involving a tour bus left four people dead and 36 injured on Sunday morning (3), at kilometer (Km) 3 of the ERS-135 Highway, in Passo Fundo (RS), 300 kilometers from Porto Alegre. According to information from the 1st Road Battalion of the Military Brigade, responsible for the region, the vehicle plunged down an embankment.

According to the Military Police, the injured were taken to São Vicente de Paulo Hospital and Hospital da Cidade, both in Passo Fundo. They also reported that all the injured have already been removed from the accident site, which is difficult to access. The bus was returning from Paraguay to Nova Prata (RS), a city with 22,8 inhabitants.

The São Vicente de Paulo Hospital, which received the majority of the passengers, reported that it will not release a bulletin on the patients' health status for the time being. The City Hospital, which received ten injured people, reported that two were taken to surgery, one is awaiting a bed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and the rest had only fractures and were under observation.
