"The backward crowd left Bahia abandoned."

On the last Sunday of the campaign, the government-backed ticket, 'Pra Bahia Mudar Mais' (For Bahia to Change More), led by Rui Costa, held a rally in the municipality of Milagres, in the Jequiriçá Valley, with the presence of Governor Jaques Wagner, and they attacked the opposition; "The group of backward people left Bahia abandoned. If you compare, I know there's no one to beat them. In Bahia alone, 2,5 million people lived in darkness before Wagner. With the 'Light for All' program, people no longer need to light lamps and candles when night falls," said Rui.

Bahia 247 - On the last Sunday of the campaign, yesterday (28), the members of the government ticket, 'Pra Bahia Mudar Mais', Rui Costa (PT), candidate for governor; João Leão (PP), candidate for vice-governor; and Otto Alencar (PSD), who is running for a seat in the Senate; held a rally in the municipality of Milagres, in the Jequiriçá Valley, with the presence of Governor Jaques Wagner (PT).

Wagner took the opportunity to take a jab at the 'United for Bahia' ticket, composed of Paulo Souto (DEM - candidate for governor), Joaci Góes (PSDB - candidate for vice-governor) and Geddel Vieira Lima (PMDB - candidate for the Senate), comparing the number of people at the event. "We can't see the end of the crowd at our rally. The other side can't even gather a moqueca (a traditional Brazilian seafood stew)."

Rui said he recognized the "large young audience" and asked voters to consult older people before voting.

"Talk to the older generation, I'm sure they remember how the backward-thinking crowd abandoned Bahia. If you compare it, I know there's no one like them. In Bahia alone, 2,5 million people lived in darkness before Wagner. With the 'Light for All' program, people no longer need to light lamps and candles when night falls."

The Workers' Party candidate guaranteed that, if elected, by the end of his four-year term "no residence in Bahia will be without electricity."
