Alagoas247 - The 8th edition of the Alagoas Municipalities Fair was officially opened on Thursday afternoon, in a ceremony at the Maceió Cultural and Exhibition Center, in the Jaraguá neighborhood. The event, promoted by the Association of Alagoas Municipalities (AMA), had as its highlight the educational competition called 'Caldeirão de Letras' (Cauldron of Letters), inspired by a segment of the TV Globo program Caldeirão do Hulk, which awarded a student from Palmeira dos Índios, whose performance was watched by political leaders, such as Senator Fernando Collor (PTB), who highlighted the organization of the fair.

Collor arrived at the fair accompanied by the president of AMA, Marcelo Beltrão (PTB), and the vice-president of the same association, Mayor Jorge Dantas (PSDB). Following the delegation were the mayor of Japaratinga, Nilberto Neves (PRP), and the vice-mayor of Santo André-SP, former federal deputy and singer Frank Aguiar (PMDB), who was delighted with the participation of a large number of municipalities in Alagoas. "This competition with the students should be replicated throughout the country, because only in this way can we achieve better education, the future of our children," he reflected.

Speaking to the press, Senator Fernando Collor highlighted AMA's commitment to bringing together the best of each region of the state. "This fair stands out each year for its organization, showcasing the potential of the municipalities represented here and thus fostering diverse forms of economy," commented the senator, who was also questioned about the impasse involving the state government and the Military Police officers, who are trying to amend a bill submitted to the Legislative Assembly – the officers are threatening a new mobilization if the bill concerning salary realignment is not revised.

"It was to be expected that this agreement would not be fulfilled, since the government has been lying to the population for a long time, and this time was no different. We can only hope that this government will soon end, so that the next election brings a breath of fresh air to the people of Alagoas," assessed Fernando Collor, adding that other equally important areas, such as education and health, "continue to suffer in Alagoas as well."

On that occasion, the president of AMA, Marcelo Beltrão (PTB), highlighted that the Caldeirão de Letras is the 'icing on the cake' at the Municipalities Fair. "We hope to repeat the dose, with the same success, in other editions of the event, because only with investment in education will we be able to reverse the terrible social indicators of Alagoas," assessed the manager, regarding the initiative that involves students from the municipal network – the champion, Letícia Guedes Castro, won R$ 1 in cash, in addition to a notebook.

"The school where the winner studies has already received ten computers," added the mayor, regarding the prizes at the fair, which offers visitors the opportunity to learn about, for example, the cultural diversity present in Alagoas, with the Muse of the Municipalities and the Meeting of Fanfares, brightening the fair held in partnership with the Union of Municipal Education Directors of Alagoas (Undime).

Another attraction will be the 1st Alagoas Gastronomy Showcase, highlighting typical Alagoan cuisine, with lectures and tastings, in addition to the 2nd Congress of Alagoan Municipalities, with discussion forums on topics related to municipal management.
