748 former students from the state public school system join the University Scholarship Program today.

Former students from the state public school system selected for the Avance – University Scholarship Program will sign the commitment agreement to be entitled to the benefit this Thursday (19). The objective of Avance is to improve the conditions of students graduating from the Ceará public school system at university, through financial aid. A scholarship of R$ 937,00 will be granted, for six months in the first year of Higher Education, to students who completed High School in the public system and are enrolled in undergraduate courses at public or private institutions accredited by the Ministry of Education.

Ceará 247 - Former students from the state public school system selected for the Avance – University Scholarship Program will sign the commitment agreement to be entitled to the benefit this Thursday (19), starting at 9 am, in the external area of ​​the Department of Education. Governor Camilo Santana, Vice-Governor Izolda Cela and Secretary Idilvan Alencar will participate in the ceremony.

The goal of Avance is to improve the conditions of students graduating from the Ceará public school system in university, through financial aid. A scholarship of R$ 937,00 will be granted for six months during the first year of higher education to students who completed high school in the public system and are enrolled in undergraduate courses at public or private institutions accredited by the Ministry of Education.

A total of 748 students are eligible to participate in the initiative, according to the Notice that guided the selection process. Of this total, 734 study at institutions located in Ceará. The others are in the states of Paraíba (8), Piauí (4), Rio Grande do Norte (1) and São Paulo (1).

This year, one thousand scholarships were available. To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates had to meet the following criteria: be a member of a family benefiting from the Federal Government's Bolsa Família Program; have obtained an average score of 560 points or higher on the National High School Exam (Enem); have graduated from a state public school within the last two years; and be in their first year of higher education at any public or private institution.
