420 new soldiers join the Military Police.

The graduations took place in Gurupi last Wednesday, the 2nd, when 71 soldiers graduated; in Araguaína on Thursday, the 3rd, with 77 soldiers; and in Palmas this Friday morning, the 4th, where 272 new military personnel officially joined the corporation; the PM Soldier recruitment process was conducted in six stages; with the new members, the PM now has 4.208 active military police officers distributed across eight battalions, six independent companies, in addition to environmental and special operations units to serve the 139 municipalities.

Tocantins 247 - "Upon joining the Military Police of the State of Tocantins, I promise to regulate my conduct according to the precepts of morality, to rigorously comply with the orders of the authorities to whom I am subordinate, and to dedicate myself entirely to military police service, to the maintenance of public order and the security of the community, even at the cost of my own life." And it was by making this commitment that 420 student-soldiers became military police officers this week. According to the General Commander of the Military Police, Colonel Luiz Claudio Gonçalves Benício, all 139 municipalities in Tocantins will have these new police officers. "These officers will be distributed to all large units and, from there, will be transferred to detachments, so that all 139 cities will be covered by police officers." Colonel Benício stated that no police officer will work in administrative activities. "No soldier will be in administrative activities. All will be employed in operational activities and will be on the streets of all 139 cities," he emphasized.

At the graduation ceremony this Friday at the General Command Headquarters in Palmas, Vice-Governor Tom Lyra (PR) represented Governor Sandoval Cardoso (SD) and emphasized that the population will receive well-prepared police officers. "Certainly, the population will receive prepared, well-trained, and qualified police officers to perform the duties assigned to them. This is a captivating, honest, and hardworking police force," he stressed.

Soldier Kivia Vieira, 21, emphasized the emotion of graduating. "It is very gratifying to belong to this honorable corporation. This graduation was the achievement of a dream. We had very capable instructors who helped us the whole time, and today we are just celebrating the realization of a lifelong dream," she said.

After passing through six stages of the selection process, soldier Igor Lopes Falcão spoke about his journey to becoming a military police officer. "We went through six very difficult and complicated stages. More than 30 candidates competed in the first phase of the selection process, and being here today, among the 420 police officers, is undoubtedly the realization of a great dream. We are prepared to serve the people of Tocantins, as we have been well trained and prepared," says Falcão.

Competition
The selection process for Soldier in the Military Police Officer Corps of the State of Tocantins was conducted in six stages: objective test, physical fitness exam, psychological evaluation, medical exams, background check, and soldier training course. This final stage of the selection process consisted of 800 hours of instruction, divided into 29 practical and theoretical subjects.

In Tocantins, there are 4.208 active-duty military police officers distributed across eight battalions, six independent companies, as well as environmental and special operations units to serve the 139 municipalities of Tocantins.
