32% of Ciro's online followers are bots.

A survey by the InternetLab institute shows how the web could be used to favor a candidacy in these elections. According to the survey, 32% of the followers of the pre-candidate for president of the Republic from the PDT party, Ciro Gomes, are bots. The leaders of this ranking are the pre-candidates from the PSDB party, Geraldo Alckmin, and Álvaro Dias, from the Podemos party.

Of the 410 followers of presidential pre-candidate Álvaro Dias (Podemos) on Twitter, more than 260 are bots used to inflate positive ratings for Dias on the social network. Closely following him is the PSDB pre-candidate, Geraldo Alckmin, with 45,8% fake profiles.

The list with fake profiles continues with Marina Silva, 36%, Jair Bolsonaro, 34%, Ciro Gomes, 32%, Rodrigo Maia, 30%, Flavio Rocha, 29%. The report was published by Folha de S. Paulo this Tuesday (3).

The candidate with the fewest fake news accounts is Guilherme Boulos (PSOL), with 14%, followed by João Amoedo (Novo) with 21%, and Manuela D'Ávila and Lula with 22%.
