2014: Caiado prioritizes the Planalto Palace and forgets Goiás.

A federal deputy told Jornal Opção that he is focused on the DEM's national project and is remaining distant, for now, from regional discussions; in recent weeks, allies of Governor Marconi Perillo (PSDB) have publicly expressed their desire for a rapprochement with the rural leader; Caiado also denies having spoken with Iris Rezende about a possible alliance for 2014; "I haven't spoken to him or anyone else about these issues."

Goiás247 - Federal deputy Ronaldo Caiado (DEM) is more concerned with the party's national project for the presidency of the Republic than with the elections for the government of Goiás. This is what he made clear in an interview with Jornal Opção Online, this Thursday.

In a conversation with reporter Ketllyn Fernandes, the congressman stated that it is too early to define his position on the state political scene. In recent weeks, Caiado has received encouragement from members of Governor Marconi Perillo's allied base. The Secretary of the Environment, Leonardo Vilela, said that the ruralist would be welcome in the alliance for 2014.

Caiado was a third option for Vanderlan Cardoso (PSB), but left the group after a falling out with Marina Silva. "With all due respect, I think the party doesn't need to be an ally, as it has the capacity to lead the ticket, it has good candidates. That's the argument I'm making," the congressman told Jornal Opção.

If the allied base doesn't seduce Caiado, Iris Rezende's PMDB doesn't seem to either. Rumors suggest that the PMDB leader met with the congressman and that talks for an alliance are well advanced. However, the DEM congressman denied any approach. "I haven't spoken to him or anyone else about these issues," he assured Opção.
